Planning a visit to Dickinson’s Real Deal this year? The long-running ITV favourite is back on the road, giving members of the public the chance to bring along their antiques and collectables, hear what the experts make of them, and decide whether to accept a dealer’s cash offer or take their chances at auction. And, of course, David Dickinson is on hand to offer his advice along the way.
Part of the enduring magic of ITV's Dickinson's Real Deal lies in its colourful panel of professional antiques dealers, each bringing years of experience and a keen eye for a potential bargain. Familiar faces including Tim Hogarth, Tracy Thackray-Howitt, Fay Rutter, Alison Chapman, Henry Nicholls, Simon Schneider, Stewart Hofgartner, James Layte, Jan Keyne and Mark Stevens have encountered everything from gold, silver and jewellery to ceramics, watches, artwork, memorabilia and unusual collectables.
David Dickinson is there to advise the sellers and mediate as the offers unfold, leaving each owner with the all-important decision: take the dealer's cash or turn it down and take their chances at auction. It's a simple formula that keeps antiques, expertise and the thrill of the deal at the heart of the programme.
The familiar voice guiding viewers through the programme belongs to long-standing narrator Claire Harman, who also voices our new Dickinson's Real Deal sponsorship adverts.

What happens on a filming day?
Bring along your antiques and collectables for the programme’s independent experts to examine. If the production team thinks an item is right for the show, you may be invited to take part in filming.
Those selected must decide whether to negotiate with a dealer or take the item to auction. David Dickinson is there to offer his opinion, but the final decision belongs to the owner.
Filming time is limited, so not every item can be featured. If yours isn’t selected, you’re still welcome to bring it to the Vintage.com stand, where our experts can assess it and, where appropriate, make an offer on the spot.
What can you bring?
The programme considers all sorts of antiques and collectables, including:
- Jewellery and watches
- Coins and medals
- Silver and metalware
- Ceramics and glass
- Paintings, prints and decorative objects
- Toys and collectables
- Militaria and historical objects
- Small pieces of furniture
- Unusual items with an interesting history
You don’t need to know exactly what you have. Bring any original boxes, receipts, certificates, photographs or details of where it came from, as these may help the experts learn more about it.
Do you need a ticket?
Filming days are free to attend and don’t require advance booking. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors open from 8am to 5pm.
Arrangements can vary, so check the details for your chosen venue before setting off. Bring valid photo identification too, in case you decide to sell something.
