General Questions

How can I give you feedback?

We love getting feedback from our customers and would be delighted to hear from you. Simply drop us a line on any of the contact details below.


Why do you need my personal information?

When you sign up we’ll ask you for the following information:

  • Date of birth (to make sure you qualify to use the service, it will also be used as a security question on your account)
  • Address (so we can send you a free welcome pack)
  • Email (so we can provide you with updates)
  • Contact number (just in-case we need to talk to you about your parcel or any of your items)

You can rest assured we don’t now (and won’t ever) share our customers’ data with anyone. You won’t get any spam from us, only updates on the whereabouts of your parcel and your cash offer.

What if I live outside the UK?

At the moment we are only able to send our free decluttering packs to UK customers, but we are expanding to The Netherlands soon!

This is because our postage labels only allow items to be posted within the UK.

Soon we plan to start accepting parcels from further afield. If you live outside the UK and would be interested in using the service please let us know.


How do I make a complaint?

Customer service is incredibly important to us - because of this we want to know straight away if you aren’t happy.

    Sending your items to us

    How much does it cost to send you my items?

    Nothing, postage is always free!

    We’ve included two prepaid postage labels in your welcome pack which is also free.

    All you need to do is attach one of each kind of label to your parcel and take it to the Post Office. Alternatively, you can arrange a free collection by contacting us:

    What if I can’t get to the post office?

    Postage for Netherlands customers is yet to be decided - not sure on this one yet.

    Are the contents of my parcel insured?

    Because we use prepaid labels the contents of any package you send to us are insured for up to £300 as long as the items are not on Parcel Force’s prohibited items list which can be found here

    Is there a weight limit for my parcel?

    Yes, but we doubt you’ll go over it.

    Each parcel can weigh up to 30kg (about 65lbs). That’s as much as 30 bags of sugar!

    Do the postage labels expire?

    There's no limit on your postage labels so please don't stress about getting your parcel sorted in a week!

  • Will you send me a box?

    Because boxes come in all shapes and sizes its difficult for us to know what kind of box you will need.

    We’ve found customers prefer to find their own boxes as they are best placed to know what sort of size and strength box they prefer.

  • I missed my collection slot, what should I do?

    Don’t worry we’re here to help. Simply contact us to rearrange your collection.

  • How should I pack my box?

    • Choose a box that's slightly larger than the items you're sending.
    • Make sure your box is in good condition and sturdy enough to survive the trip.
    • We recommend reinforcing all the seams of the box with packing tape (before you put your items inside!)
    • Once your items are inside pack up any spaces around your items with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, foam, or paper so there's no room for your items to move around in the package.
    • Use clear or brown packaging tape, reinforced packing tape, or paper tape to seal your box. The tape should be at least 2 inches wide. Using masking tape, cellophane tape, cord or string may make your parcel less secure in transit.
    • If you're re-using a box, cover any previous labels or cross out any previous address information with a heavy black marker.
    • Don’t forget to attach the labels from the pack we sent you.


    Having your items returned

    What if I want my items back?

    You can choose to have your items returned for free as long as we haven’t yet paid you for them.

    Logging in to our website and declining our offer means your parcel will be automatically returned.

  • How will my items be returned?

    We will send your parcel back via Parcel Force and we even text and/or email you a tracking number so you can see where it is at all times.

    There really is nothing to lose when you join us.


    Are the contents of my parcel insured?

    Yes they are! All of our parcels are insured for up to £300.

    So you can sign up for our free service with peace of mind.


    Will you charge me to return my items?

    Absolutely not! If you are are not completely happy with the offer that we make, we will return your parcel totally at our expense.

    We’ll also make sure you get a tracking number so you can keep an eye on your parcel until it’s safely home.

    How long will it take you to return my items?

    If you decide you’d like your items returned just let us know.

    We’ll put them in the post the same day you tell us (as long as it’s before 4pm). We’ll send you a tracking number so you can keep an eye on your parcel until it’s safely home.

    It usually takes about 3 days.

    How much is my item worth?

    The value of an item is very dependent on quality, condition age and demand. We wouldn’t want to try and work out an offer remotely because we want to make sure you get the right price for your item.

    If you don’t want my items, will you return them?

    The offers made by our appraisers are for the parcel as a whole, but you can ask for any or all of the items to be returned.

    We’ll return your items for free and we’ll provide you with a tracking number so you can keep an eye on your items until they are safely returned.

    Is it worth sending in my item?

    The aim of our service is to encourage our customers to declutter in bulk. We ask our customers to send in a minimum of 10 items.

  • What do you do with my items once you’ve bought them?

    We hate waste so we make sure all the items we receive are put to good use. The items we buy are either re-homed, recycled or upcycled.

    We sometimes keep the more unusual items we receive in the office as we love having vintage things around us.

    What if my items are broken or in bad condition?

    Not to worry, in most cases we accept broken items. If you are unsure take a look at the specific item categories on the items we buy page as these will tell you if we accept broken items in that category.

    All we ask is if an item you are considering sending is dirty or stained that you don’t try and clean it. Often harsh chemicals will damage these items and will detract from their value.

  • Do I need to include a contents list with my parcel?

    You don't need to include an inventory or contents list with your parcel. If you want to make one for your own records though you are more than welcome to do so.

    Some customers take photographs and make a listed itinerary of the items before they send them to us.

  • Why do you use automated emails?

    To make sure that you always know what’s going on we may send you automated emails. These will just let you know when we’ve received your parcel or made an offer etc.

    Please make sure you add us to your trusted sender list so you don’t miss anything important.


    How long is my offer valid for?

    Once we’ve made your offer you have 14 days to accept it.

  • Why haven’t I received my decluttering pack?

    It can take a few days to reach you in the post. If it’s been more than 5 days please contact us so we can make sure you don’t miss out.

  • Trouble logging in

    I can’t log in!

    If you have already double checked the details you entered, in case of misclicks or misspelling etc then it may be that your details are incorrect on our system.

    You don't have to accept straight away, you can take some time to think about whether you'd like to accept

  • What are my different payment options?

    When you accept our offer we have three different payment methods for you to choose from:

    • Bank Transfer
    • Cheque
    • Browse a full list of items you could be getting paid for on ouritems we buy page.


    How do I know I will get paid?

    We understand that it pays to be cautious in this day and age and we don’t blame you!

    Payments are made the same day and depending on the option you choose, your money could be in your account within 24 hours.

    How long do payments take?

    You should receive your payment on the same day you receive your offer. We give the following time scales for payments to help you decide how you’d like to be paid.

    • Bank transfer - 24hrs
    • Cheque - 3-5 days in the post 3-5 days to clear in the bank
